Tillie Shares Her Passion

Tillie called the Islands line incredulous. “I heard you are doing a project to make cars stop for pedestrians. Is that TRUE?” When we connected by phone, she told us stories of the intersection near her home. “I’m afraid to look out the window for fear of seeing someone get hit,” she said, “It’s terribly unsafe.” We invite Tillie to join us at City Hall as a docent at the Crossings Panel - where visitors could answer the card “Is there an intersection you would like to cross on foot but feel it is too dangerous?” Every time someone answered and fastened the card to the exhibit lines, Tillie would ring her triangle. It was nearly a constant ringing!
